An oil-based cleanser or makeup remover takes our products off easily.
Micellar water and water-based wipes tend to struggle with long-wear formulas, which is why removal feels like hard work if that is what you have been reaching for. It is the formula, not you.
How to do it
- Apply the oil-based cleanser to dry skin, not wet
- Massage gently and give it 20 to 30 seconds to break the color down
- Wipe away, then rinse
No scrubbing. Scrubbing irritates the skin without shifting the color any faster.
Using the Melt-it-All Cleansing Balm
Our Beyond Clean Melt-it-All Cleansing Balm takes everything off in one step, for eyes, lips and face. No separate makeup remover and no double cleansing.
- Twist the container to dispense your desired amount. One full twist in the morning for a refreshing cleanse, two full twists at night to remove longwear makeup, SPF, pollution and daily dirt.
- Massage the balm onto dry skin, gently working over the eyes, lips and face to melt and dissolve oils and impurities.
- Add water. A small splash of warm water, and keep massaging as the balm transforms into a smooth, silky milk cleanser.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then gently pat the skin dry before continuing with your next skincare steps.
The balm to oil to milk texture is what lets one product do the whole job. Dry skin to start is important: water too early stops the balm phase from gripping the makeup.
See it in action
Refilling the pod
When your balm runs out, you do not need a whole new jar.
- Pop the empty pod out of the jar
- Peel the protective layer off the new pod
- Drop it in and carry on as normal
The jar is reusable and travel-ready, so only the pod gets replaced.
Any oil-based cleanser works, though. You do not need ours.
If a little color is left behind
A stain sits in the very top layer of the skin, so a faint tint can linger after the first pass. A second short pass with the oil cleanser usually lifts it. Gentle exfoliation the next day takes care of anything remaining.
Resist the urge to scrub it off in one go, particularly on lips. How long the lip stain has been on makes a difference to how quickly it lifts.
Eyeliner
Hold an oil-soaked pad against the lash line for a few seconds before wiping, rather than rubbing at it. Letting it soak does the work. With the balm, massage a small amount over closed lids, then rinse or wipe away.
