Getting the best results from your Lip Stain

WONDER BLADING is a stain rather than a lipstick, so it behaves differently from what most people are used to. Here is the full application, then the two things that account for almost every disappointing first attempt.

Prep. Start with clean, dry lips. If needed, exfoliate first with the WONDER BLADING 3-in-1 Lip Scrub to remove any dry flakes.

All-Day Lip Stain, on its own

  1. Apply evenly across lips.
  2. Wait 1 minute, or until dry.
  3. Wipe away with a damp cloth to reveal the color.

The longer you let the masque set, the more vibrant the result. You can go from a soft tint to full color just by waiting a little longer.

Peel and Reveal, with the Activator

  1. Masque. Spread on 2 to 3 layers so lips are completely covered and there is no natural skin visible. For soft color, let the masque sit for 10 to 15 seconds. For bolder color, wait 30 to 45 seconds.
  2. Activator. 1 to 3 mists, until lips are slightly damp. Hold a tissue or the WONDER BLADING cloth against your chin to catch any drips.
  3. Peel. Wait a few seconds, then start at either corner of your mouth, grip the masque and peel it off to reveal the color underneath.

Buff off any remaining bits of masque with the WONDER BLADING cloth.

The bluish-purple masque is not the final shade. A mild tingling and a slightly sweet taste while it sets are both normal.

Pro tips

  • To intensify the color, repeat the application. Wipe lips with a damp cloth first to remove any excess activator.
  • For extra sheen, apply a lip balm or gloss on top once you are finished. WONDER BLADING will not fade or run when other lip products are layered over it.
  • To remove it, use an oil-based face cleanser or an oil-based makeup remover that takes off waterproof cosmetics.

If it came out patchy

If you are using the wipe-away method, the edges dry more slowly than the middle. That makes it feel ready before it is, and going too early is what leaves an uneven result.

  • Check the outer edges, not the center
  • Give it the full minute even if the middle looks done
  • Work in thin layers rather than one thick one. Thick layers trap moisture and dry unevenly
  • Warm rooms speed the drying, cold rooms slow it. Give it longer in winter

If it did not last

Long-wear formulas need a dry surface to bond to, so moisture underneath is usually the culprit.

  • Start on clean, completely dry lips
  • Nothing underneath. No balm, gloss or oil before you apply
  • Let it set before anything touches it, including pressing your lips together
  • Exfoliate first if your lips are flaky. Color sits unevenly on dry patches and lifts with them
